With so many different skincare products out in the market, it can be difficult to know what to use, especially because we all have such a variation of skin types and therefore would need a seek a suitable remedy.
So here at The Perfect Man, we wanted to narrow down your search – face moisturisers are a good place to start, and since it’s now summer (though it may not always feel like it), it’s still important to keep your skin hydrated and protected.
To help you out, we’ve put together a few (seasonally appropriate) matte moisturisers we’ve tried out and recommend. We’ve kept it simple – matte gives the look of even texture on the skin, and there’s nothing above £30 so here’s a range of more affordable brands for you to try out for yourself.
To help prevent against break outs, a non-comedogenic moisturiser can fight against blocked pores so we thought Murad was a really good choice for this – it helps mattify the skin while containing SPF 15 to protect against UVA/UVB.
Lightweight cream-gel by Bioderma is also a great option for oily to combination skin. By mattifying your complexion, the mostuiriser helps regulate sebum production using zinc gluconate and vitamin B6.
We like that the formula is very light and helps speed up cellular renewal, tightening the pores and evening out your skin texture.
Price: 150ml – £34.00 / 500ml – £87.00
We do love a bit of Aveda here at The Perfect Man office. Pioneers of holistic beauty, we pretty much love any of their products we get our hands on.
Their botanical kinetics lotion contains emollients derived from coconut, jojoba and other naturally-derived ingredients-that replenishes moisture with a gentle touch. Packed with camomile and lavender, the lotion works wonders to promote a soft, supple skin texture.
As a more affordable option, we recommend men-ü Buddy Matt Moisturiser.
For those of you who don’t like to use fragrant products, you’re in luck – it’s oil and fragrance free formula contain sebum absorbents to control shine and give the skin a matte texture, especially around the T-zone area.
The vitamin E in the formula helps shield from free radicals which cause signs of ageing, and boosts elasticity to refresh skin.
Also it’s the perfect travel size.
For those of you cautious about what products you use – try cruelty free and 99% natural Yes to Tomatoes Daily Balancing Moisturiser.

It’s a fun brand that we love, so would definitely recommend giving this a whirl.
