The Netflix Original Better Call Saul, a prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad is currently in the middle of production for its second season.
The story begins six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) meets school teacher turned drug lord Walter White (Bryan Cranston) aka Heisenberg. In the first series we meet Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. His tragic life forces him to resume his existence as his alter ego Saul Goodman. Working alongside and often against Jimmy is fixer Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character first introduced in Breaking Bad. The series tracks Jimmy’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal attorney.”
A couple of teaser images have been released from the production of the upcoming season. The first is of series creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. This behind the scenes shot shows the pair watching the filming of a scene for the second season of the show.
The second shot is a still from the second season. At first glance the still appears to frame in on Saul Goodman, however at a closer look we can see the image portrays Saul being cornered by two unrecognisable figures. Although it is unclear which characters they might be, they are not either Walter White or Jesse Pinkman, despite speculations. The pilot for the second season has not yet been released but judging by the way Jimmy’s story unfolds in Breaking Bad, there is no doubt he’ll be getting himself in a lot of trouble.
Better Call Saul Season 2 is scheduled to premiere in 2016.
