‘For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.’
This weekend, Saturday 23rd April, marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death. So, to celebrate one of England’s greatest play writers, The Distillery Bankside – based a stones-throw away from Shakespeare’s Globe theatre – have curated a special cocktail which will be served on the day.
To pay homage to the writer, The Distillery’s expert mixologist has conjured up a series of special concoctions: ‘Wherefore art thou Romeo?’, ‘It is the east & Juliet is the sun’ and ‘Thus with a kiss I die.’ Inspired by one of Shakespeare’s most infamous love stories, Romeo & Juliet, the cocktails feature homemade aromatics, infusions and bitters. The Distillery’s have even gone all out jazzing up the presentation, serving up each drink on it’s very own theatre stage.
Priced at £6 each or £16 for a cocktail flight, pop down and celebrate one of the greatest writers.
