South African bombshell, Charlize Theron, graces the May 2016 cover of British GQ Magazine entitled, “The most bungled diamond heist in history.”
In 2015, Charlize Theron appeared as bad-ass, Furiosa, in the resurrected action-thriller, Mad Max: Fury Road; one of the biggest films of 2015, taking home an impressive six Oscar awards, despite rumors that she bumped heads with co-star Tom Hardy during filming… Maybe this helped with the on-screen hostility of their characters?
In her latest action packed film, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Charlize returns as the evil Queen Revenna, blowing our socks off once more. She really is the fairest of them all, but according to the South African beauty, looks do not open every door. In the latest issue of GQ, she shares her struggle with being typecast and breaking away from it saying: “Jobs with real gravitas go to people that are physically right for them and that’s the end of the story. How many roles are out there for the gorgeous, f***ing, gown-wearing eight-foot model? When meaty roles come through, I’ve been in the room and pretty people get turned away first.”
Labeled as “the most bungled diamond heist in history” by GQ, Charlize is known as South Africa’s lost diamond. But despite leaving her country and adapting an American accent, she reveals: “I have a very, very strong connection to my country and to its people. It’s the mother that might have abandoned me, in a weird way, but not all the way. I’m not having a pity party, but I’m constantly trying to win its love back.”
The May issue of British GQ Magazine is available to purchase from Thursday 7th April 2016.
