Its that time of year where we are all wishing we could relive our summer holidays and be on a beach getting a tan and and drinking a cocktail. Instead of daydreaming about next summer why not take a city break in London? Here’s a list of some of the newest hotels you should visit if you come to London, or just bar hop if you already live here. We love a hotel bar, and here are some of the most popular hot spots to enjoy a cocktail and a potential star spot.
The Mondrian is the latest hotel from The Morgan’s Hotel Group, we’ve spent many evenings at The Sanderson and St Martin’s Lane and this is an entirely new location to find them, the Sea Containers building on the Southbank. You can imagine how beautiful the views are from the rooms across The Thames. British designer Tom Dixon helped to design the interior of the hotel and it keeps in the style of the Mondrian hotels, but adding unique elements only for this new London branch. The interior also mirrors the history of the Sea Containers building with a giant copper wall to represent the hull of the ships. The hotel has a Bathhouse & Spa as well as Gym and even a cinema room which looks amazing! Go Visit their two bars the Dandelyan or the Rumpus Room at the rooftop. Perfect for a cultural fix at the Tate Modern and the National Theatre. Find out more at their website.
2. The Beaumont
The next hotel is The Beaumont, the first new venture into to the hotel space by Corbin & King, who you would know more as restaurant owners in London. This is in Mayfair, so a hop away from a big night out at their other place, Scott’s. Expect luxury all the way in this 5* hotel built in this 1926 property with an added modern touch. The ROOM is visible in the above photo and has a sculpture created by Antony Gormley , the Turner Prize winner. The hotel also has a beautiful spa and gym available to guests. The American Bar serves drinks and cocktails all day long. The Beaumont is 5 minutes away from shopping in Bond Street, so perfect for a luxury spoiling weekend in London. 3. The Chiltern Firehouse
André Balazs has opened hotels in New York and owns the famous Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. He has hit the big time with his first place in Marylebone London, you’ve seen all the celebrities pouring out of its doors in all the papers, well good luck getting a table, but it will be worth the effort. The hotel has been created inside an old fire station has an acclaimed restaurant under the watch of Chef Nuno Mendes . So if you want to go celebrity spotting this is the place to go! They pride themselves on providing a luxurious and personalised experience for their customers and have an exclusive lobby bar to complete your Marylebone experience. 4. The London Edition Hotel
In the heart of London’s Fitzrovia the beautiful London Edition hotel mixes the perfect amount of classic decor with a modern architecture and style. The five star hotel offers three different bars, Berners Tavern, Punch Room and the Lobby Bar all with their own different styles as well as a fitness centre. The Berners Tavern is the most stunning dining room in London, and the kitchen is under the control of Jason Atherton. One of my favourite bars to pop into after work, with an excellent cocktail bar. The area surrounding the hotel is great for for fine dining, cool cafes and incredible shopping with Oxford and Regents Street and Soho around the corner.
