With LCM SS17 in full swing this weekend, The Perfect Man takes a close look at some of our favourite looks…
London Collections Men kicked off last week showcasing the latest in men’s fashion for SS17. It’s always interesting to see some of the more daring designers, and we’ve been keeping a close eye on some of the more wacky looks they’ve showcased this season, but we mustn’t forget the more wearable fashion also. We’ve been closely following all of the shows, presentations and events taking place in London over the weekend and picked out some of our favourites.
Influenced by the North East England, Barbour’s SS17 collection is all about the ‘linear, clean and effortlessly put together looks’. Going back to their origin and heritage of providing clothing for fishermen, the new collection draws inspiration from the North Sea.
Khaki, black, musky greens and royal blues, Barbour’s collection will be our must have next year – we just wish we could have got our hands on some of the pieces over the weekend to keep us protected from the heavy downpours at the festivals.
We even spotted Dougie Poynter from McFly pop in to have a look at Barbour’s latest collection.
Launched in May 2008, Sibling London have once again caught our attention. The premiere menswear brand, known for their bright and playful style, have once again outdone themselves. The SS17 collection featured vibrant, yet wearable beachwear and we’re really into the pattern on the long board shorts.
The brand’s bold move to use their show to make a political statement also did not go unnoticed as the designers walked the runway at the end of the show, wearing t-shirts with the word ‘IN’, letting the audience know they’ve decided to stay in the EU.
Northern Ireland designer, Jonathan Anderson, has quickly attracted attention since establishing J.W. Anderson in 2008. His unique designs offer a modern interpretation of masculinity and femininity, Anderson merges both menswear and womenswear elements elements to his collections.
J.W. Anderson has been regarded as one of London’s most forward thinking brands and he has even grabbed the attention of rapper A$AP Rocky as their latest collaboration comes to no surprise.
In an interview with Vogue magazine, the American rapper reveals that they met through friends and later on decided to collaborate. A$AP told the magazine he was obsessed with the designers collections, in particularly the turtleneck pieces, square zippers and the use of fur.
