Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti star in brand new drama, Billions.
We’re in for a treat, the latest US drama, Billions, is about to start in the UK and our very own Damian Lewis is of course starring in it.
Set in New York, the financial thriller is about a US prosecutor, Charles “Chuck” Rhoades Jr. (Paul Giamatti), battling against cocky billionaire, Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis).
Damian’s character, Bobby, is an ambitious hedge fund manager who comes from a humble upbringing. Following the 9/11 attachks, Bobby was the sole survivour from the company and was left with the responsibility to pay the university tuitions of his former colleagues’ children. Although Bobby appears as an extremely generous and charitable person in public, not everyone knows the story behind closed doors. His ambition to grow his business spirals out of control and he adapts some unethical ways such as bribery to achieve his goals.
As played by Paul Giamatti, Chuck Rhoades, is a US attorney for the Southern District of New York. He finds himself in a constant struggle not to be overshadowed by his wealthier wife, Wendy, and his rich and powerful father. His distaste for wealthy criminals who try to buy their way out of justice sends him on a mission to bring Bobby down, but will he be able to succeed?
Billions premieres on Sky Atlantic Thursday 12th May 2016 at 9pm.
