Celebrity groomer Kim Verbeck got her hands on Andy Samberg and Jon Hamm this past weekend, and spruced the two lads up, ready for the red carpet at the Emmys.
Now, looking good in this instance comes at a price, a very very high price at that! So if you’re looking to upgrade your skincare regime and you have some spare cash, keep reading. If not, I might suggest you sit down now because we’re talking triple figures for some of this stuff… Not to scare you away!
Anyway back to the Emmys; Kim compared the look she created for Andy Samberg to a “classically handsome, leading man”, perfect for the role of a host. To prep and cleanse Kim used RéVive Gel Cleanser Gentle Purifying Wash, (£55) and to wake the skin up she used RéVive Balancing Toner Soothing Skin Refresher, (£45), and all this was just step one!
For stage two (moisturising), to get the blood in the face flowing, she massaged the face with some RéVive Sensitif Oil Free Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, (£130) and to tackle fatigue under the eye she applied some RéVive Moisturizing Renewal Eye Cream Ultra Retexturizing Hydrator, (£95). Finally she made Adam pucker up so she can apply some RéVive Intensité Moisturizing Lip Balm, (£40).
Kim’s victim number 2 – Jon Hamm, winner for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, “Mad Men”.
She began by prepping the skin with some RéVive Balancing Toner Soothing Skin Refresher, (£45), followed by some RéVive Intensité Fluide Superbe, (£250). To lock in moisture to the skin she applied some RéVive Intensité Les Yeux Firming Eye Cream, (£135) to the eye area and some RéVive Sensitif Oil Free Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen, (£130) to the rest of the face. Finally to complete the look some Peter Thomas Roth Max Anti-Shine Mattifying Gel, to prevent shine cause by flashing cameras at the red carpet.
Kim says there’s no need for makeup, even if this is an awards show. She is a firm believer that taking proper care of skin brings the best results and “men should always look natural”. All the products she used are certainly very helpful, but they are also quite expensive. For those on a bit of a budget her advice for maintaining skin on an every day basis is drinking lots of water and washing your face with a proper cleanser. In addition to this she recommends a moisturiser with SPF of at least 15 to protect skin against ageing and an eye cream to keep dark circles away.
