Serena Williams intensity on the court proves why she was the 2015 champion. As the reigning champion is looking to defend her crown, her chances have increased due to the absence of her strong competitor Camila Giorgi in this years tournament.

Not to far behind Williams is 2015 runner-up, Garbine Muguruza. Williams and Muguruza compete head to head meaning a good match should be in the making. Will Muguruza allow this title to slip through her fingers?

Belinda Bencic is looking to become a household name at the age of 19 (yes I really did mean 19). The young professional is ranked 8th in the world and is entering the tournament with winning on her mind. Her powerful swing has helped her place third in the tournament once before.
